Using the Editor

Editing your site is as simple as clicking and typing. No code, no complicated menus - just point at what you want to change and change it.

You can't break anything

Your changes are saved automatically, but visitors won't see them until you click Publish. Feel free to experiment - you can always undo with Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac).

The Editor Layout

When you open the editor, you'll see three main areas:

Left Sidebar

Switch between pages, add new sections, and access site-wide settings like colors and fonts.

The Canvas (center)

This is your website. What you see here is exactly what your visitors will see. Click anything to edit it.

Top Bar

Undo/redo buttons, preview mode, and the all-important Publish button.

Editing Text

See text you want to change? Just click on it and start typing.

When you select text, a formatting toolbar appears. You can:

  • Bold or italicize for emphasis
  • Add links to other pages or websites
  • Change text alignment (left, center, right)
  • Switch between headings and regular paragraphs

Keyboard shortcuts work

Ctrl+B for bold, Ctrl+I for italic, Ctrl+K for links - the shortcuts you already know from Word or Google Docs work here too.

Changing Images

Click any image to replace it. You can:

  • Upload from your computer
  • Search free stock photos
  • Generate a custom image with AI (describe what you want)
  • Paste a URL from another website

Images are automatically optimized for fast loading - you don't need to resize them first.

Working with Blocks

Your page is made up of blocks - sections like a hero banner, a list of services, testimonials, or a contact form.

Adding a new block

Hover between any two sections and click the + button that appears. Browse the block library and click to add one.

Moving blocks around

Drag a block by its handle (the dots on the left side) to rearrange your page. Or use the up/down arrows.

Deleting a block

Click the trash icon on any block to remove it. Changed your mind? Hit Ctrl+Z to bring it back.

AI Writing Help

Stuck on what to write? Select any text and look for the sparkle icon (✨). Our AI assistant can:

  • Fix grammar and spelling - Catch typos you missed
  • Make it shorter - Tighten up wordy paragraphs
  • Make it longer - Expand a bullet point into a full paragraph
  • Change the tone - More professional for a law firm, warmer for a bakery
  • Translate - Convert to Spanish, French, or other languages

The AI suggests changes - you decide whether to keep them.

Saving and Publishing

Saving: Automatic. Every change is saved as you work. If your browser crashes, your work is safe.

Publishing: Manual. Your visitors see the last published version until you click Publish. This lets you make multiple changes and review everything before going live.

Preview your changes

Click the eye icon in the top bar to see exactly how your draft looks to visitors - in a separate browser tab.
